On November 14, the Press Conference of 1st China – CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation and the 5th China Jiangsu Conference on International Technology Transfer and Commercialization were held in Nanjing.

Mr. Wang Qin, Director General of Jiangsu Science and Technology Department introduced the two prestigious events and their achievements. The 1st China – CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation was an important activity for promoting innovative cooperation under the China-Central Eastern European Countries Cooperation (16+1) mechanism. In the conference, various activities including Opening Ceremony, Cooperation Forum, Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Seminar, Innovation Cooperation Workshop, B2B Meetings and Site Visits have made a series of achievements. China and 16 CEE countries jointly issued the NANGJING DECLARATION on China-CEEC Innovation Cooperation and launched the Virtual “16+1 Cooperation” Technology Transfer Centre. Jiangsu will actively participate in 16+1 mechanism under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative.

Focusing on the theme of “Access to Global Innovation Resources, Promote Open Innovation Collaboration”, the 5^th China Jiangsu Conference for International Technology Transfer and Commercialization was held around key partner countries, R&D institutions and priority technology fields. The conference has made a series of important achievements. It successfully promoted a number of international technology transfer projects, reached 131 cooperation intentions and introduced a number of overseas high-end talents in the field of biomedicine. Meanwhile, it has deepened the cooperation relationship with a number of countries and regions. In the conference, we released the Jiangsu-Victoria, Jiangsu-Ontario industrial R&D cooperation plan. Last but not least, Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute has become an important platform for the province's international innovation cooperation. Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute has signed strategic cooperation agreements with many prestigious innovation institutions such as Harvard University, University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Waterloo to jointly promote and implement industrial technology research and development projects.

Since 2008, the “China Jiangsu Conference for International Technology Transfer and Commercialization” has been successfully held for five sessions, bringing together more than 1,400 overseas guests with representatives from various innovation institutions. The conference has become an important platform for Jiangsu enterprises to exchange and connect with foreign universities, research institutions, and high-tech companies. It has become the largest and most influential international innovation cooperation platform of provincial level, and it has been highly praised by domestic and foreign participating organizations and representatives.
