The 2nd China-CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation Held in Bratislava of Slovakia

On November 27, 2017, the 2nd China-CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation was jointly held in the capital city Bratislava of Slovakia by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as “MOST”) and Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, over 180 delegates from China and 16 Central and Eastern European Countries (hereinafter referred to as “CEECs”) attended the conference and Vice Minister Li Meng of MOST presented at the conference and delivered a speech.

CEECs are important partners along the “Belt and Road”,as Vice Minister Li Meng stated in his speech. Mechanism for “16+1” Science and Technology Cooperation is getting mature. We will continue to make this “brand” Conference on “16+1” Innovation Cooperation a success, build a platform for innovation cooperation and exchange between China and CEECs, provide supports for scientific research institutions, higher education institutions as well as enterprises in each country to carry out joint research & development and cooperation on industrialization of research results, positively explore cooperative ways to establish joint laboratory as well as joint research and development center, and provide supports for innovation and entrepreneurship as well as establish long-term cooperative mechanism, according to Vice Minister Li Meng.

At the conference, Minister Martina Lubyova of Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and Vice Minister Li Meng of MOST launched opening ceremony for the Website of Virtual “16+1 Cooperation” Technology Transfer Centre”. The website built by Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer is the only Chinese mirror site that strengthens the online connectivity of science and technology innovation resources of CEECs, integrates various innovation resources of every country and works to advance complementarity exchange and in-depth cooperation by virtue of the strengths of the Union of “Belt and Road” Innovation Cooperation and Technology Transfer.

Activities such as Innovation Forum and Investment Forum were also held during the conference with nearly 50 matchmaking meetings being arranged and achieving sound cooperation effectiveness.
